Varicose veins can happen to anyone, regardless of their age. However, several factors can affect the symptoms of varicose veins, like genetics, age, lifestyle, and living habits. If it is not treated timely, it can lead to many health complications like venous ulcers and thrombophlebitis.

What is a varicose vein?

The varicose vein is a condition in which the valves within the veins get damaged. It usually affects the legs and causes severe pain. For some people, it also is a cosmetic concern as they can bulge through the skin, but some people also suffer from severe health concerns like blood clots. To avoid getting varicose veins or the associated pain, you can include some daily exercises in your fitness routine.

Here is a list of exercises that can help you with the varicose vein treatment:

1. Brisk walking

One of the easiest exercises is to walk every day. All you need to do is invest in a pair of comfortable shoes and take some time out of your day. Brisk walking has lots of benefits. It can reduce the pain in your legs and also improve blood circulation.

2. Stretch your legs with bicycle kicks

If you are worried about the look of your legs for varicose veins, bicycle leg stretches can be of great help to you. It can diminish the appearance of the veins on your legs. Just lie down on a mattress and raise your legs in the air. Then, move them as if you are riding an imaginary bicycle in a circular motion.

3. Calf raise

Stand straight and rise on your toe tips. Lower your heels slowly. Keep Repeating this process as many times as you feel comfortable. It will strengthen your calf muscles and give you relief from varicose vein pains.

4. Lunges and variations

Stand straight and put one leg backward. Now lower your body so that the front leg is at a 90-degree angle with your knee. Repeat the process with the other leg. Two legs make for a single count. Contract the leg muscles as much as you can. Continue the exercise for as long as you feel comfortable.

5. Stretching

Stretching can not only keep your body fit, but it elevates your mood too. Keep your mind and body fit and fresh with stretching exercises. All forms of stretching can increase blood circulation and help you in building core strength.
